Aube = Dawn is may be the best experimental electronic project at the moment. Here’s a short interview from Akifumi done before his Europe tour.

I also feel Aube is becoming increase the releases. But fortunatelly, some labels are kindly offering me about the release of my recording. So, I`m just trying to do good works and quickly for them as possible as I can. Meanwhile, I'm now refusing the offers from some unsure or untrustworthy labels.

To choose one sound source for each release ís your concept, why such a decision? Do you think some sound source get along better with the mood you want to compose: Noíse or ambíent?

I wanted to be different from others as there were some famous (in this noise scene) artists already when I started to my sound work in 1991 as well as I thought something good concept will be help for the originality. Yes I think some sound source would be possible for more expression and variation. But by my concept, I will not use some sound source under the name Aube. I will use different name as other side projects, I will use some sound source.

Do you think AUBE ís a kind of inner psychanalysis?

Maybe so, I feel so.

Can you describe your choíce for a french word AUBE and its concept (You use often french in your titles do you learn this language?)

I 1ike the pronunciation and spelling of it and also I heard it has some good meanings (not?). The choice was just my feeling only. (I'm not use often French. Only a few as I don't learn it. My sister learns it, so I can get her help in sometimes)

Have you determined the date for finishing G.R.O.S.S.? Can you tell me more about the future releases planned on G.R.O.S.S.?

G.R.O.S.S. is also my design project's name, so it will never finish, if I will not change my work. As for G.R.O.S.S. cassette release, there will not be so many in the future like before. Next G.R.O.S.S. release will be Aube/Nagisanite split C46 Ltd 117 as a special release for the live show at Yamamura Salon in Ashiya city Japan on 29 April 1998.

I know ít's a hard question but what will be the next releases of AUBE & others side-projects?

I don't know what will be the next. It is up to each labels condition and release date. I'm just waitting for the releases which I finished and sent my masters.

How ís the life in Kyoto? What do you do beside all your musical projects?

Maybe good as I've never moved here. I'm doing my work as a freelanee industrial designer beside my sound activities.

When will we have the opporttunity to see AUBE in Europe or USA?

June 1998 in Europe. As I'm busy for many works include contacts to some organizers in Europe for my tour in this June now, so just this for today.
